There’s nothing worse than an injured muscle. They hurt and depending on where they are, they can impact your ability to walk, move around or even breathe. What follows are very simple instructions for making a hot compress that works very well for pulled, strained and otherwise sore muscles.

  • Take a washrag and run it under very hot water. You can also wet the rag and heat it in the microwave a few seconds. Be very careful if you choose to do this.
  • Fold the rag into a rectangle or large square; whichever fits better depending on the size of the affected muscle and where it is.
  • Place 3 drops peppermint essential oil, 3 drops lavender essential oil and 2 drops Texas cedarwood essential oil across the rag.
  • Place the hot rag oil side down on the affected muscle and let it sit.
